Why Counselling?

For many reasons in life, either internal (such as anxiety or depression) or external (grief & loss, change and transition, unhealthy relationships), we find ourselves feeling lost, stuck or overwhelmed.

I see my role as someone who will walk alongside you, helping you map out your situation, so you can find your way to where you want to be.

I have many tools in my toolkit that I can introduce you to, that can help you find a path that works for you.

Hi, my name is Cameron.

I have been counselling now for well over a decade. I am very experienced in working with teenagers and spent my first  10 years counselling in secondary schools, including a role as Head of Guidance.  This expanded to include working as a private practice counsellor, seeing a variety of people. I am currently working part-time in a school environment alongside private practice counselling in Christchurch.

My work is shaped by several counselling modalities including Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative ideas. A particular therapeutic tool I make available to my clients is Sand Tray.
